How to create a workout routine?

Creating a workout routines with gyminutes is very simple. If you have created or used a workout routine before, you will find that gyminutes follow the exact same workout routine structure.

Imagine a workout routine as a big box. This big box contains multiple smaller boxes. Lets call the smaller boxes as workout boxes. And then imagine that each workout box contains multiple items which are intern exercises. That it. Below are instructions with screen grabs to help you create a workout routine.

Step 1:

Open gyminutes app and click "Home". Select "CREATE ROUTINE" on "Home" view.

Step 2:

To create a new routine, click on "+" on Top-Right Corner.

Step 3:

Fill all fields under "Create Workout" screen. Make sure that your routine name is unique.

Step 4:

Click "Save" (Top-Right) before leaving the "Create Routine" View.

Step 5:

Press back button to view the newly created routine i.e. The Big Box. Now lets fill it with small boxes (Workout Days).
Select the routine name to which you wish to add a workout Day.

Step 6:

Click "+" on Top-Right to add a new Workout Day. Type in a new Workout Name and press "Done" and you have successfully create workout day box. Now lets add exercises to this box.

Step 7:

Click "+" on Top-Right to add exercise to this workout.

Step 8:

Select the muscle group whose exercises you wish to add to the workout day. Note: You can add exercises from different muscle groups in a workout.

Step 9:

All exercises are sorted based on equipment. Click on exercise to add it to a workout. If you do not find the exercise you are looking for, you can always create your own exercise by clicking "+" on Top-Right corner. Once you add your own exercise, selecte it from the list.

Step 10:

Press back to view muscle list. If you wish to add exercises for different muscle group, follow steps 8. Once done, press "Back"

Step 11:

The workout day will now show all exercises that you have selected. The default values of sets is 3, reps is 8 and rest timer between sets is 45 seconds. You can change these defaults values in "More" > "App Settings". You can also rearrange exercise order by clicking "Edit". Once done modifying sets and reps, press back. Data will be automatically saved.

Step 12:

Press "< Back" and your workout Day creation is complete.

Step 13:

Follow steps 6 - 12, to create multiple workout days under same routine.

How to create a new custom exercise?

It is possible that you may not find the exercise you are looking for in our database. No worries. You can create your own exercise and add it to your custom workouts. Follow steps below to create your custom exercise for a workout.

Step 1:

Open gyminutes app and click "Home". Select "CREATE ROUTINE" on "Home" view.

Step 2:

Select the routine you want to add custom exercise too.

Step 3:

Select the workout you want to add custom exercise too.

Step 4:

Click "+" (Top-Right) to add new exercise to workout day.

Step 5:

Select the muscle for which you want to add custom exercise.

Step 6:

Click "+" on Top-Right to add a new exercise.

Step 7:

Fill in all the exercise information and press "Create Exercise"

Step 8:

Exercise has been created. Now you can add this exercise to your workouts.

How to create a super-set, tri-set, giant-set and circuits ?

Creating multi-sets (i.e. super-set, tri-set, giant-set and circuits) inside a workout routines with gyminutes is very simple. Once you have added all the desired exercises to a given workout, you are ready to create multi-sets within that workout.

Navigate to workout creation tool and create a workout (See Tutorial 1 above)

Step 1:

Click "EDIT" button on top right corner of the screen.

Step 2:

Start dragging the exercise that will be part of the multi-set workout. Drag this exercise over the other exercise that will be part of multi-set group.

Step 3:

Release the exercise and super-set is created.

Step 4:

If you drag another exercise to same group, then a tri-set is create.
Similarly adding all exercise to one exercise group will create a circuit workout.

Step 5:

To ungroup exercise from multi-set or delete exercise from a group, just slide LEFT on exercise and select "UNGGROUP" or "DELETE".

Step 6:

To re-arrange exercise order, click on up or down arrow on the right side.
